feels good to stop snoozing

if all it took this whole time was just to stop snoozing

some weeks ago i randomly encountered this post on threads from mkbhd

mkbhd thread

and i actually read that and told myself ok lets actually give this thing a shot

mornings are also easier right now because it's august in spain and everyone is on vacation so my commute is cut by half so it's a good time to do this trial


so i've been following the classic advice and i think it actually works

i also feel silly writing this because it's a bit trivial


but i feel like if i'm able to physically override that small negotiation phase that takes place when i first wake up and do as the post says and just feet hit the floor no questions asked

  1. I feel good bc I'm like holy shit I actually got up today hell yeah
  2. 5 minutes in I actually do feel more energized in the morning

reminds me of an anecdote from chris delia about when he started standup and would get nervous before going on stage

went somthing like

i used to think to myself: if i can just physically force one foot to go in front of the other then eventually i'll be on stage and then i won't think about my nerves because i'll already be performing


so yea in essence it's like - if i can physically get up before the negotiation phase starts in my head, then there's nothing to negotiate with myself because i'm already standing up


I also like writing about this here because it serves as a reminder to me to keep not snoozing and hopefully not fall back into the bad habit

putting this here helps me reinforce the idea in my head
